The nominations for the much-awaited award function of the year is here! It's time to see the list of films, actors, actresses and more who chosen for the prestigious 2nd Edition of Micff India Awards. The Year 2021 has seen great content across categories and hence it will going to be difficult to pick one for any of the sections.


Gajra, Pralhad, Backyard Filmmakers, Anniversary Drive, Mera Number Kab Aayega, All The Devils, Patang, World Cup, Casanova, bagged the top nominations this year, among other notable films under Indian & International Short Films Competition Categories.

Pralhad


'Pralhad' which is a biographical account of one of India’s all time biggest Industrialists and philanthropists, Shri Pralhad Chhabria received 10 MICFF nominations. .The story follows the journey of a 14-year-old Pralhad, traveling from Amritsar to Bombay (1945) in search of business opportunities. Things take an unexpected turn and his fate shifts after a mysterious theft in the train.

Casanova

Ana (30) Is a Mexican actress who travels to Los Angeles for a small gig. Insecure and unaware of her loneliness, she starts using a dating App. This is how she encounters Tyler, a virgin 19 year old whose life is just starting. They will spend the night in a sordid hotel room. As both their layers unfold, both their true natures come alive for us to see.

Aai

Aai (mother) is the story of a sacrificing widow, mother, Sudha Patil. It is the story of all the sacrifice that every mother makes to raise her children.

After the death of her husband, Sudha has endured the hardships of life and raised her only son – Nivant Vilas Patil. Nivant was just two years old when they purchased the house. Priya, her granddaughter, was born in the house. There are far too many memories attached to the house. Therefore, to let it all go is a bit much for Sudha.

Does Nivant convince Sudha to go to USA? Will she agree?

Bhet

The story is about 24 year old girl Kusum ,who recently lost her grandmother who she was very close to.Her family seems to have accepted her grandmother's death but kusum is still deeply affected by it and doesn't want to accept of her passing.The story then leads to such events that give Kusum a realization that is inexpressible.

Typewriter

The film explores a paranormal account of a young writer suffering an unappreciative relationship, until an antiquated self-typing typewriter changes her life.

March Ko Niklegi Filmon Ki March!


Our primary concern is always the responsibility we feel towards our staff, artists, audience, and filmmakers who travel to Mumbai from various places. We remain committed to the city of Dreams, where we’ve hosted the Micff India 2020 Inagural Edition and will do so again when it is safe. Organizers said they hope on holding the event in March 10th & 11th at Pvr Juhu,Mumbai (TBC).

NSD alumni Sunita Rajwar, who is also a Festival co-founder emphasized that - "The event, which was to open in Dec'2021, is not being canceled, just postponed, due to COVID concerns."
