Decision of the selection panel and jury shall be deemed final and cannot be challenged under any circumstances.
Entries for Mumbai International Cult Film Festival are open for everyone. Participants under the legal age (Under 18 Years) must submit a consent letter from their parent or guardian.

The total runtime of the Short Films including opening & closing credits, should strictly be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 45 minutes.

The total runtime of Documentary & Student Short Films including opening & closing credits, should strictly be a maximum of 30 minutes.

The total runtime of Film on Women including opening & closing credits, should strictly be a maximum of 30 minutes.

The total runtime of Lockdown Short Films including opening & closing credits, should strictly be a maximum of 30 minutes.

Only short films that were made after January 1st, 2019 are eligible for the festival..

The short film can be in any language. However, all films must include sub-titles in English.

DECLARATION :

The filmmaker/producer/submitter/entrant accepts & takes the complete responsibility of copyright issues of music, script and all other creative and technical aspects of the film and for the accuracy of the information provided above. MICFF INDIA shall not be liable to pay any exhibition fees or royalty to any person/copyright holder or whomsoever for the film submitted/entered under any category. MICFF INDIA is not responsible / answerable to any copyright / legal issues regarding the submitted/entered films screened/publicised under any category at MICFF INDIA.

Once submitted, films under all categories cannot be withdrawn or cancelled from participation at MICFF INDIA under any circumstances by the participant. MICFF INDIA reserves the right to cancel/disqualify the film from being considered/screened if any false information about the film is provided by the filmmaker/entrant/submitter and the entry/submission fee shall be forfeited and will not be refunded. The film also will be disqualified from competition category and will not be screened during the festival dates.

SCREENING FORMAT :

All Feature Films & Short Films can be submitted by uploading complete film online in full HD MP4 {codec H.264}, MoV File {codec H.264} Format in cinemascope aspect ratio 2.35:1 OR 16:9 [with burnt in subtitles] on Vimeo & youtube like platforms and sending us Link URL and password if protected directly via filmfreeway. Only invited films can be submitted along with Submission Form - MICFF INDIA 2020 & Press Kit via email to info@micffindia.org

SUBMISSION RULES :

Once the film is shortlisted for festival screening/competition, the selected participant will be requested to

Send the publicity material, as & when required.
Send the screening copy. MICFF INDIA shall share the detailed instructions regarding screening format.

Applicants can send multiple entries. However, a separate Entry Fee will be required for each film/category.

Short films must be made available for download to the festival organizers.

Multiple entries from the same participant are accepted, but entry for each film must be submitted separately.

SELECTION CRITERIA

ELIGIBILITY LIST : eligible for the nomination in the respective categories at MICFF 2020.
SEMI-FINALIST : Shortlisted films from the ELIGIBILITY LIST in the respective categories at MICFF.
FINALIST : Shortlisted films from the SEMI=FINALIST list in the respective categories at MICFF.
OFFICIAL NOMINATION : TOP 5 Shortlisted films from the FINALIST list in the respective categories at MICFF.
SCREENING FILMS : Total 25 -50 Films each year get officially nominated & Compete at Micff India, PVR, Juhu..
ONLY OFFICIALLY NOMINATED Films will be screened. Nominated films selected for screening will be notified via email and on social media (website, Facebook Page, Instagram, Twitter & on Youtube). If your film shortlisted as FINALIST, but you receive no Official Screening email, it means your film will not be screened or an award contender in its category.

The Festival Organizers reserve the rights to copy or use the material submitted by the participants in any form, online or offline, for the festival’s promotional and archival purposes.

All under mentioned Press Kit items must be E-mailed to info@micffindia.org in order to complete the Entry/Submission.

Crew & Cast List.
Director’s Filmography.
One Photograph of Director.
Four still photographs of film in JPEG format (300 dpi, preferably 600 x 900 pixel size, max dimension 1200 pixels)
One Poster of film in JPEG format (300 dpi, preferably 600 x 900 pixel size, max dimension 1200 pixels)
Film’s trailer of not more than 2 minute in duration (Usable for promotion & publicity purpose if selected)

ANNOUNCEMENT OF OFFICIAL SELECTION

Official Selection MICFF INDIA 2020 – selected films for competition and films selected for screenings for all categories will be announced on www.micffindia.com website and other social media platforms such as official pages of MICFF INDIA on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and via Email on or before 15TH November 2020. However, MICFF INDIA reserves the right to change/cancel the scheduled dates, accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever. Films selected for competition need not be screened if it fails to comply other formal requirements or on request of the Entrant/Submitter.

Authorised Representative (including director/producer/cast) of the selected films will be invited to attend MICFF INDIA screenings/seminar/ceremonies as ‘Participants’. MICFFINDIA will not arrange or reimburse for travel/stay, boarding/lodging/conveyance expenses etc. of the invited participants/delegates attending the festival.

a] 𝑶𝑭𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑺𝑬𝑳𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 : Eligible to be 'CONSIDERED' under competition category for MicffIndia Awards with live screening at the festival.

b] 𝑺𝑬𝑴𝑰-𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑻 : Shortlisted films from official selection to be 'CONSIDERED' under competition category for MicffIndia Awards with live screening at the festival.

c] 𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑺𝑻 : Shortlisted films from Semi-Finalist to be 'CONSIDERED' under competition category for MicffIndia Awards with live screening at the festival]

d] 𝑶𝑭𝑭𝑰𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑵𝑶𝑴𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 : Total 25 Films (5 from each Category), will be Officially Nominated under competition category for MicffIndia Awards with live screening at the festival.

THE JURY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADD, CREATE OR DELETE ANY OF THE AWARDS CATEGORY DEPENDING UPON THE NUMBER AND NATURE OF THE FILM ENTRIES RECEIVED BY MICFF INDIA - 2020.

Students must provide proof of school/university ID.

We retain the right to change the date and venue of the festival under special circumstances. All filmmakers will be informed about any changes through our online platforms.

Any technical issues with the submitted films are 100% the responsibility of the filmmakers. If, at the time of judging, your video file doesn’t work or doesn’t have English subtitles (if in a language other than English), it will be automatically rejected, without a refund. Please contact the festival team ASAP if there are any issues with the submission process, and a solution will be found.

Entry/Submission Fee is Non-Refundable. Any other payment once made to MICFF INDIA, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
